<p>Patti Newton has issued a desperate plea to her son Matthew, who has spent two years out of the spotlight and has built a new life in America. </p> <p>According to <a href="https://www.nowtolove.com.au/womansday" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Woman's Day</em></a>, Patti is determined to see her family reunited, as she wishes for Matthew to return to Australia. </p> <p>After a series of scandals, Matthew fled the country and has since created a new life for himself in Texas with his <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/relationships/huge-matthew-newton-mystery-confirmed-during-bert-s-funeral" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wife</a> Catherine Schneiderman. </p> <p>Matthew was arrested twice in 2012 following altercations in Miami, following a string of scandals in Australia, including several domestic violence allegations a charge of assault. </p> <p>Despite her son now living his best life in the US, Patti desperately wants him to return home. </p> <p>"Moving to Texas is the best thing either of them could have done. Patti Newton's candid confession two years on from Bert's death

<p>Patti Newton has made a heartbreaking confession about her wonderful relationship with her late husband Bert. </p> <p>The veteran entertainer, 78, told the <a href="https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life-and-relationships/bert-will-always-be-the-love-of-my-life-patti-newton-20231115-p5ek53.html?collection=p5eoey&amp;gb=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Sydney Morning Herald</em></a> that she is still haunted by Bert's death in 2021, and admitted he will always be her one true love. </p> <p>"Bert will always be the love of my life. A friend of mine had given it to him. Bert used to pick it up from the tray and kiss it," she said.</p> <p>"He'd hold it for a minute and then put it down. I take it to the theatre with me and before a show I pick it up and kiss it."</p> <p>"I hold it to my heart as he did and say, 'Come on Bert, we're on.' <p>Olivia Newton-John's daughter, Chloe Lattanzi has opened up about a few health struggles in a candid video posted on Instagram. </p> <p>The 37-year-old daughter of the <em>Grease</em> star shared that she had been struggling with the effects of grief, around one year after her mother's passing. </p> <p>"Since my mum's passing and the year and a half with her going through cancer, I have not been OK," she said. </p> <p> "If I have forgotten to return your calls – I've had extreme memory loss, I've had difficulty getting out of bed. We totally all understand and take care of your body, mind and spirit," commented another. </p> <p>"Sending you love Chloe. <p>Olivia Newton-John's daughter has opened up about her grief journey on the one year anniversary of her mother's death. </p> <p>Chloe Lattanzi spoke candidly with <a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/lifestyle/stellar/world-exclusive-chloe-lattanzi-on-the-first-anniversary-of-olivia-newtonjohns-death/news-story/9fcd4dccc2113fabbbe508e9c92520ee" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Stellar</em></a> magazine about what the last year has looked like for her and her family, as they still struggle with the reality of losing a loved one. </p> <p>Since Olivia's death last year, Chloe and her husband James moved into Olivia's ranch in California, where Chloe says she still feels the healing presence of her late mother. </p> <p>"I feel like she’s still alive," she said. "Even though I feel her around me in spirit, it’s a tangible place where I feel my mother."</p> <p>"I can walk on the soil and be like, her foot was here. I can sit on her favourite seat and know that she sat there a thousand times, and visualise sitting on her lap. It’s the last place she lived, where she crossed and I held her hand. She’s still alive there for me.”</p> <p>Chloe shared that the outpouring of love after Olivia's passing was overwhelming, as fans from around the world sent their thoughts and messages of love. </p> <p>“I got absolute oceans of love and support and connection. I’m kind of isolated on the ranch, and I’d have fans reaching out: ‘If you ever need anything, anyone to talk to… we love you so much.’"</p> <p>"It was the lifeboat, and beautiful in a way, all these people sending so much love to our family and loving my mother. They really lifted me out of dark places."</p> <p>Chloe is determined to carry on her mother's philanthropic work through the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness &amp; Research Centre at Melbourne’s Austin Hospital, and the annual Walk for Wellness event, which will be celebrating 10 years in October. </p> <p>Since her mother's passing, Chloe and her family have worked tirelessly to continue her mother's legacy, and encourage others to get involved in the cause.</p> <p>“It means everything. [Olivia] said, ‘You’re going to carry the torch for me, darling, but you’re going to shine your own unique light.’ I want to rally and encourage everyone to get together, like my mum did."</p> <p>On the anniversary of Olivia's death, Chloe said she is sure she will feel "shattered", but will surround herself with loved ones and bask in happy memories of her mother. </p> <p>“I’m going to be spending the day with a mother figure, going to do the things that my mum liked to do. Xxx" </p> <p>Though Bert's physical presence is dearly missed since his passing in October 2021, Patti's heart remains filled with cherished memories and everlasting love for him.</p> <p>Opening up about the challenges she faces after losing her soulmate, Patti spoke candidly to 9Honey on Mother's Day in May, revealing the depth of her emotions. "I'll never get over him not being here," she said at the time. "I've got photographs everywhere, and I have a chat with him most nights." </p> <p>Their extraordinary relationship, a beautiful tapestry of laughter, love and resilience, is something Patti holds dear. "We had a wonderful relationship," she said. "We had ups and downs like everybody has, but we did have a fabulous marriage. We came together, and we always had a laugh, and I think that's probably what I miss the most."</p> <p>Since Bert's passing, Patti has bravely embraced life while grappling with grief, determined not to be consumed by it. She finds strength in the memories they shared, a reminder of the love that will forever bind them.</p> <p>"People say, 'My mum lost Dad and she never leaves the house, she never puts makeup on, she never wants to go anywhere or do anything and she's become an old lady'," Patti reflected, "Well, that isn't me. Either I'm going to die with Bert or I'm going to keep living, and I think he would want me to keep living."</p> <p>Bert and Patti's love story is one for the ages, a golden couple who walked hand-in-hand for 46 extraordinary years. They exchanged vows in Camberwell on November 9, 1974, and together, they lovingly nurtured two beautiful children, Lauren and Matthew.</p> <p>As we celebrate what would have been Bert's 85th birthday, we are reminded that love knows no boundaries, not even those of time and space. “Papa activities”: Jock Zonfrillo’s widow shares bittersweet post

<p dir="ltr">The widow of late <em>MasterChef </em>star Jock Zonfrillo has shared a bittersweet post on how she is trying to fill his shoes.</p> <p dir="ltr">Following Zonfrillo’s <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/shattered-hearts-culinary-world-mourns-tragic-death-of-jock-zonfrillo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passing in Apri</a>l, his wife Lauren Fried has been keeping his Instagram account active to share memories of him, his last projects, and provide updates on how her family is coping.</p> <p dir="ltr">In the most recent post, Fried shared that their young son Alfie had asked her to do some things he had traditionally enjoyed doing with his dad.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Alfie has asked me to do some of his Papa activities with him - making crepes and doing hours of Lego were in his requests,” she wrote in the caption.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I went with the easiest option of a trip to the barber, which the boys used to do together, followed by gelato,” she added.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It put a smile on his face which was beautiful.”</p> <p dir="ltr">She shared a series of photos of Alfie getting his haircut and smiling proudly as he showed off the final look. Jock Zonfrillo’s widow shares touching throwback snaps

<p dir="ltr">Lauren Fried has shared a few touching throwback snaps of how sweet and loving her late husband Jock Zonfrillo was.</p> <p dir="ltr">The snaps were posted on Zonfrillo’s Instagram account, which Fried has taken over after she asked his fans on whether it would be appropriate for her to release his <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/jock-zonfrillo-s-widow-breaks-silence-over-his-passing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">unfinished projects </a>on social media.</p> <p dir="ltr">In a few snaps, Zonfrillo and his six-year-old son Alfie, were pictured spending quality time at a museum.</p> <p dir="ltr">In one photo, the chef could be seen lying on the floor and pointing at the ceiling as his son looked on. In another photo, the father-and-son duo were spotted playfully posing.</p> <p dir="ltr">“If Jock had to be at a museum, at least he made it fun,” Fried captioned the series of photos.</p> <p dir="ltr">Fried also posted a short black and white throwback clip of the <em>MasterChef </em>judge beaming as his wife planted a kiss on his cheeks.</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>MasterChef</em> judge <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/shattered-hearts-culinary-world-mourns-tragic-death-of-jock-zonfrillo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed away</a> on May 1, and is survived by his third wife, Fried, and his four children Ava and Sophia, from his first two marriages, and Alfie and two-year-old Isla, with Fried.</p> <p dir="ltr">Zonfrillo’s widow has opened up about how raw her grief still was and recently shared an <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/this-has-broken-me-how-jock-zonfrillo-s-daughter-is-coping-with-the-loss-of-her-dad" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emotional snap</a> of how their youngest child, Isla was coping with her father’s death.</p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

Jock Zonfrillo's wife's touching words at private funeral

<p>Late <em>Masterchef</em> judge Jock Zonfrillo has been laid to rest by his loved ones at a private funeral in Sydney. </p> <p>His wife, Lauren Fried, was there with their four children - Eva, Sophie, Alfie, And Isla - as well as other members of the late chef’s family, who had flown in from Scotland and the United States to pay their respects.</p> <p>Zonfrillo’s <em>Masterchef </em>co-hosts Melissa Leong and Andy Allen could also be spotted in pictures that circulated online after the service, alongside the likes of fellow Scot Jimmy Barnes, and chefs George Colombaris, Manu Feidel, Colin Fassnidge, Miguel Maestre, and Matt Moran. </p> <p>Barnes was later joined by his daughter, Mahalia, and the two performed a touching rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’ for the service. </p> <p>Lauren led their small procession of mourners into the chapel, with tartan draped across a shoulder, as an indigenous smoking ceremony took place, and bagpipes were played. Pictures revealed that Zonfrillo’s coffin had been adorned with the Royal Banner of Scotland, and topped with a bouquet of white roses and orchids.</p> <p>It was a heartbreaking scene to witness, but it was Lauren’s words within the chapel that have struck a chord with mourners, as she paid tribute to her late husband. </p> <p>“We are two halves that found each other at the exact moment in life when we were ready,” she said, according to<em> The Daily Mail</em>. “We were ready for that big love to live a life of adventure, to become parents together, to imagine extraordinary things and to actually make them happen.”</p> <p>Zonfrillo’s daughter Ava - one of two from a former relationship - added that “it goes without saying that at the heart of everything you did was family. </p> <p>“And one of the hardest things to accept is that you won’t be here to see ours grow.”</p> <p>And to everyone, they added, “for those who crossed his path and became his mate or were lucky enough to be in this family, keep this proud Scot in your heart when you have your next whisky.”</p> <p>No wake was held after the funeral, with one attendee informing <em>The Daily Mail </em>that “the family just wants it to happen without any of the attention his death has attracted, which has understandably been overwhelming.</p> <p>“They're trying to keep it as personal as they can. "Why would you want second best?" Patti Newton's heart-wrenching confession

<p>Patti Newton has made a heart-wrenching confession about the future of her love life, as she continues to grieve the loss of her husband. </p> <p>Speaking on 2DAY FM’s <em>Hughesy, Ed &amp; Erin</em> breakfast show on Wednesday morning, Patti opened up about life after losing her beloved husband Bert in October 2021, saying she is not open to the possibility of finding love again. </p> <p>“Never. When you have the best, why would you want second best?” Patti, 78, said.</p> <p>“He was it for me. I fell in love at a very young age and I’ve never looked at anyone else. I’ve never even kissed anyone else.”</p> <p>When asked by Hughesy what Bert would think if she dated again, Patti said he would not be very happy. </p> <p>“I reckon there would be a huge clap of thunder and probably a strike of lightning. If he could hit me, it would hit,” she joked. </p> <p>“He used to say to me, ‘You think you’d ever marry again? Yeah, you would, wouldn’t you?’ And I would say, ‘No, I wouldn’t.’ And he said, ‘I’ll keep my eye on you.’”</p> <p>Patti went on to say her life without Bert is "very difficult", admitting that her grief has "gotten worse" over time. </p> <p>“Look, it’s very difficult,” Patti said. “People say time will heal. Well, I think it’s getting worse rather than better.” </p> <p>“I do think because I’m so loved by my family and because I have grandchildren around me all the time – we only live around the corner – I see them a lot. They’re beautiful kids. I supposed that’s taken a bit of the sadness away.”</p> <p>This year would've marked the couple's 49th wedding anniversary, as Patti said they had a great relationship, despite going through ups and downs like any other couple. </p> <p>“We laughed a lot and talked a lot. We were very different people, but I think sometimes that works – it’s good if you’re different,” she said on air. “We were extremely happy. I hate people who say, ‘We never had a cross word’. John Travolta’s teary tribute to Olivia Newton-John

<p>Olivia Newton-John was known for many things: mostly for being a giant of the Australian entertainment industry. </p> <p>But according to her daughter Chloe, her most important legacy was the work she did at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre. </p> <p>Since her mother died in August 2022 after a 30-year journey with cancer, Chloe is determined to continue her extraordinary work, and joined <a href="https://9now.nine.com.au/a-current-affair/the-olivia-newton-john-cancer-wellness-and-research-centre-with-family-and-staff/340a9404-e7ef-46f4-8e49-3d0f2e0fd654" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>A Current Affair</em></a>'s Ally Langdon to visit patients in the centre to hear their stories. </p> <p>Chloe Lattanzi dropped into the centre with her cousin Tottie Goldsmith, where she was greeted by patients who were over the moon to meet her.</p> <p>"Oh my god, you are so like your mum," one patient told Lattanzi as she squeezed her tight in a warm hug. </p> <p>"You're just beautiful like her … she's an Aussie treasure."</p> <p>"She's done so much and I'm so grateful for what she's done here because they (staff) are just amazing."</p> <p>Lattanzi said she first visited the ONJ Wellness Centre with her mum in 2019 and now she's "very passionate" about continuing her legacy.</p> <p>"I am very much looking forward to meeting the people who are here and connecting with them," Lattanzi said.</p> <p>"I hope to bring some kind of comfort and joy … because I know what they're going through."</p> <p>Patients in the centre were quick to praise the work Olivia Newton-John had done in creating the centre, sharing how much of a difference such an environment had while undergoing treatment. </p> <p>"Everything's serene and calm because it's a traumatic time and to have that sort of thing is really marvellous," another patient said.</p> <p>"It's a home away from home," Sergio, who is also a patient at the centre, added. </p> <p>Chloe said that it was an honour to be invited into the centre and felt her mother with her "in spirit". </p> <p>"I feel like she's inside of me and this is my purpose," Lattanzi said.  </p> <p>Director of Austin Health Foundation Debbie Shiell was also at the centre when Lattanzi paid the patients a visit and said "Chloe gave them the gift that Olivia gave them".</p> <p>"Olivia gave them a break from here and love and healing energy and that was really special to witness and I have no doubt that those people you saw today will be beaming tomorrow," Shiell told Lattanzi.</p> <p>"This (wellness centre) is her vision, her legacy."</p> <p><em>Image credits: A Current Affair</em></p>

How Olivia Newton-John's family remember her

<p>Seven months on from the passing of Olivia Newton-John, her family are still navigating their emotional journey of grief. </p> <p>Her daughter Chloe Lattanzi and her husband John Easterling opened up about how they are remembering Olivia in all aspects of their life, as they believe she is still with them in spirit. </p> <p>Chloe and John told <em>A Current Affair</em>'s Ally Langdon that they regularly look back on the fond memories they shared as a family, and connect with her in a unique way. </p> <p>"I talk to her every day," Lattanzi said while remembering her late mum in the emotional interview.</p> <p>"She's always there and I wear her every day, so her energy is on my body," Lattanzi said as she touched a cross necklace around her throat.</p> <p>"But I would love to hold her again."</p> <p>John also looks back on their "15 extraordinary years together", saying "There was a little bit of magic."</p> <p>Chloe admitted that when she had to get up and speak at her mother's state memorial on Sunday, her "heart was beating out of her chest".</p> <p>"As soon as I stepped up there I felt my mum come inside of me, my body. I felt her energy … and it was supernatural. The love in the room carried me through that," she said. </p> <p>Lattanzi said she talks to her mother every day when she meditates or is walking, saying "It might sound crazy to some but whenever I have a doubt or I have a question I speak to her."</p> <p>Olivia Newton-John died in August 2022 after a long battle with cancer, which Chloe said her mother always handled in a positive way. </p> <p>Lattanzi said her mum was always very positive and never considered her cancer diagnosis as a "war or battle".</p> <p>"She wasn't in a battle or fighting cancer ... we were living life and living life well," Easterling added.</p> <p>Her daughter said despite her positive attitude, her mother also shared moments of vulnerability with her, which she wanted people going through their own cancer journeys to know was normal.</p> <p>"I don't want people who are going through cancer to think that it's not ok to break down and have a hard day, or cry, or be scared," Lattanzi said.</p> <p>"I know my mum would want them to know that."</p> <p>Chloe went on to say she believed her mum had comes to terms with dying, as she admitted, "I think she stayed for me and John."</p> <p><em>Image credits: A Current Affair</em></p>

Olivia Newton-John's daughter's emotional memorial tribute

<p>Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi has delivered an emotional speech at her mother’s memorial service, saying she “feels like a little girl”.</p> <p>Almost six months after her death at the age of 73, Newtown-John was remembered at a star-studded service at Hamer Hall in Melbourne.</p> <p>She passed away on August 8, 2022, after battling breast cancer for three decades.</p> <p>Newtown-John’s husband John Easterline spoke at the beginning of the service followed by his daughter’s emotional tribute.</p> <p>“My heart is broken in two. The other half is with my Mumma,” Lattanzi said with tears.</p> <p>“I know she is holding it for me until we meet again. I stand here before you so desperately wanting to feel strong and confident and speak eloquently. But the truth is, I feel like a little girl lost without her mother.</p> <p>“She was my safe space, my guide, my biggest fan and the Earth beneath my feet.”</p> <p>Lattanzi also said she knew her mother was “standing beside her” and could hear her voice telling her not to be afraid.</p> <p>The grieving daughter mentioned her and her mother had the same “cackle,” and revealed although her mother would never tell a dirty joke, she would “laugh the hardest at them”.</p> <p>“I loved making her tea and then making it five times again until I got it right. I loved our snuggles. I would crawl into bed with her late at night even until I was 20 years old. I loved the way that she smelled,” Lattanzi said.</p> <p>“I loved writing music and singing with her and how she would always notice if I was slightly off-key.</p> <p>“She cherished her friends and her family and she was so grateful to her fans and she loved you all so dearly. She would want us all to laugh and reminisce together, enjoy and celebrate her life.”</p> <p>Aussie singer and actress Delta Goodrem broke down at Newtown-John’s memorial service as she was giving a speech about how the late actress was so special to her.</p> <p>“It’s beautiful to see everybody,” Goodrem said as she was interviewed at Hamer Hall in Melbourne, ahead of a moving performance.</p> <p>“It’s beautiful,” Goodrem continued, flooded with emotion. “Sorry.”</p> <p>“I’m so happy to see everybody coming together on a day to celebrate someone who touched all of our lives,” she said when asked why she was so emotional. “I think that’s really what it is.”</p> <p>In a video shown at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, Dolly Parton said, "The world lost one of its greatest talents when Olivia left us.”</p> <p>Nicole Kidman also paid tribute, saying that Newton-John was "just a light in the world" and that growing up, she "wanted to be Olivia Newton-John.”</p> <p>Some of the other celebrities and friends who paid tribute to Newtown-John during the service included Hugh Jackman, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, RuPaul, Pink and Sir Elton John.</p> <p>Image credit: Getty</p>

Grease star's emotional tribute to Olivia ahead of state memorial

<p>It's been six months since Olivia Newton-John passed away, breaking hearts of entertainment lovers everywhere. </p> <p>Now, her celebrity friends and family have begun arriving in Melbourne for her state memorial on Sunday, with thousands of fans joining to pay their respects. </p> <p>Among those sharing fond memories of Australia's sweetheart is Olivia's long-time friend and <em>Grease</em> co-star Didi Conn, who starred as Frenchy alongside Newton-John as Sandy. </p> <p>In an interview with <em>Today Extra</em>, Didi became emotional while reminiscing on a sweet moment from the set of the hit 1978 musical. </p> <p>"It's not good when you can't talk, you know, on a talk show," Conn said as she tried to compose herself.</p> <p>Didi revealed the first scene she filmed with Newton-John, sharing that the Aussie was actually quite nervous, but that was the moment they became great friends.</p> <p>"We were waiting for them to set up the shot and I just looked at her and she was shaking," she said.</p> <p>"I said 'Oh, Sandy, I'm so happy to have a friend from Australia, tell me all about Australia' and she looked at me like 'is this in the script?'"</p> <p>Olivia then cottoned on that Didi was improvising and by the time the cameras started rolling she was much more comfortable thanks to that little bit of help.</p> <p>"When the scene ended, she hugged me and that was the beginning of our friendship," she said.</p> <p>The women shared over 40 years of friendship and she revealed one of the last sweet moments she got to share with her.</p> <p>"I hadn't spoken to her in a couple of months and I called her and she said, 'why haven't we spoken?'," Conn said.</p> <p>Conn had been unwell recently and Newton-John was in hospital with a broken leg.</p> <p>"The next day I received this gorgeous orchid plant, it was beautiful with so many buds," she said.</p> <p>"The day before she left Earth, one of the buds fell down and I thought, oh no, and sure enough, I heard the news."</p> <p>"But her beauty will last forever, in everyone's heart, because she had the biggest heart, she was the most beautiful person."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Paramount Pictures / Today Extra</em></p>
